Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub (American actress and comedian, as well as activist) is a comedian. She was born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents and started her acting career as a young person soon after her move to the United States. She came to prominence for her appearances on AT&T television commercials as saleswoman Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and since in 2020. In addition to her commercial appearances, she was a regular on the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She also starred in the role of a regular character in the NBC drama This Is Us (2016)-2017. Vayntrub was initially cast as the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's unaired pilot for New Warriors in 2018, was voiced in that role since. Vayntrub is an Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) native and an American Jew. Her parents, who were both two years old, immigrated to America to escape antisemitism. They were settled in West Hollywood. She started acting in Mattel Barbie commercials at the age of five because of her family's financial problems. Vayntrub was a student at Beverly Hills High School briefly however she dropped out after her sophomore year. She later obtained an GED and graduated with the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of California, San Diego. She was a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and was a student of the art of improv comedy
